Engineering BTEC Extended Diploma

Engineering BTEC National Extended Diploma

Equivalent to three A Levels. There are 3 externally assessed units and 12 internally assessed units

Why do a 3 A level engineering course?

Engineering at level 3 focuses on the application of knowledge, theory, analytical techniques and new technology to provide solutions for an ever changing world. To ensure our designers and engineering learners are equipped with the skills they require to succeed within the many disciplines of engineering. Our exciting and engaging curriculum is delivered with our partner institutions that include the National Grid, Ford Motor Company and University College London (UCL). We believe that the best way to learn is from industry currently practicing within their field of design and engineering expertise.

The Btec extended diploma level 3 course delivers 3 A levels and gives a recognised knowledge in Engineering, this is one of the few vocational qualifications that Universities respect as a credible step to a degree in Engineering.

Industry quotes

“As an engineer I’m constantly spotting problems and plotting how to solve them. Everyone has ideas. They may be too busy or lack the confidence or technical ability to carry them out. But I want to carry them out. It is a matter of getting up and doing it.” James Dyson
