PE and Sports
PE in Key stage 4
In years 10 and 11 all students receive two hours a week of Physical Recreation and Education. Each two hour session consists of warm up, indoor and outdoor activities, then a warm down. We have a full PE kit in company colours.
PE in the Sixth Form
In the sixth form PE is not compulsory but available through extension activities and sports teams run by staff.
Our facilities
Sports Hall - On site we have a large sports hall with basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis and football facilities.
Outside cage area with floodlighting and a full net cover for football and basketball. This is also available every break and lunch time for students.
Green Fields Football, Rugby and well maintained field space right next door courtesy of the May and Baker Sports and Social club. This provides for football, rugby, athletics and other outdoor team games such as softball and rounders.
5 connected country parks that we use for cross country running, orienteering and mountain biking are available to us right from our back gate.
Changing rooms, both male and female, are fitted with individual showers.
Sports clubs
Footsal indoor football runs every week on a Friday after school.
Football teams pre and post 16 which play against local school teams.
Basketball training takes place every Wednesday and is coached by coaches from Barking and Dagenham Thunder basketball club.
Table Tennis. We have 8 TT tables for use in the sports hall and two external tables courtesy of the Jack Petchy foundation.
Mountain Bike club. We have a range of self-refurbished bikes used for our student built jumping ramps and 20 new mountain bikes sponsored by Ford for off road adventure.
Youth rowing club which competes against other schools at Lee Valley.
Green Power racing. The racing team have 3 cars which they race in national competitions.
British youth Go-Karting team which also takes part in national completions.
Other team sports take place throughout the year.
