Uniform and Dress Code
Students who are planning to work with some of the UK’s most prestigious businesses need to dress appropriately. It is the expectation that this business ethos will surround all the work at Elutec. Our aim is to prepare young people to be the next generation of talented Engineers and Designers through a really positive education experience which equips them with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities they need to have a successful career in industry. This includes knowing how to present themselves in a business environment both in the workshop and the office.
Uniform for Years 10 & 11
All students will wear a black jacket* with an embroidered Elutec logo, black trousers* or a skirt (at least knee length)*, a long or short sleeved shirt, a clip-on tie* in their company colour, a pullover* (optional), if worn a plain black hijab, plain black/grey socks or black and neutral shades tights and black shoes (female students could wear heels not higher than two inches, no platforms) – no boots, sandals or sports shoes.
For the workshop students will wear an Elutec boiler suit* and safety boots.
Uniform for Years 12 & 13
Students in the sixth form wear the Elutec charcoal grey suit* with a white shirt with a collar (revere collar for female students*). Male students must also wear a tie. Ties must be sensible in design and suitable for wearing in the workplace. Female students may wear the optional neck scarf* and/or a plain black hijab which must be sensible in design and suitable for wearing in the workplace. The Elutec grey pullover* can be worn under the jacket.
Elutec boiler suits* and safety boots must be worn in all designated areas.
PE KIT for Years 10 & 11
Students will also be required to wear sports kit for PE.
This will include:
- Polo shirt in company colour*
- Black shorts or skort*
- Socks in Company colour*
- Elutec hoodie (optional)*
- Elutec tracksuit bottoms (optional)*
Students playing football will require football boots and shin pads when playing on an outdoor pitch. Students playing rugby will require a mouth guard and boots.
All students should also have a sufficiently sized PE bag to carry kit and all kit must be clearly marked with the student’s name.
# – Trainers should only be worn when participating in sport; if worn at any other time they will be confiscated and alternative footwear provided for the day.
